FIELD EDUCATION CALENDAR 2006-2007

Fall Semester –2006
Monday, September 11, 2006

  • The first day of class and Field Work Orientation for SWK 490 will be held at 2:00pm – 3:30pm in the ENG B Wing room 121 A - B
    You will receive your seminar assignment at this time.

Tuesday , September 12, 2006

  • The first day of class and Field Work Orientation for SWK 570 will be held at 4:15pm-5:30pm and for SWK 572 5:45pm-7:00pm in the Adanti Student Center Ball Room. You will receive your seminar assignment at this time.

Week of September 25, 2006

  • Field Work begins for all BSW and MSW Students


November 22 to 25, 2006 Thanksgiving recess – No classes

November 27, 2006 Classes resume.

December 14, 2006 Classes End.

December 22, 2006-06-02 Field Work End.

January 8, 2007 Field work resumes.


TWO COPIES OF WRITTEN FIELD EVALUATION TO BE MAILED TO THE DIRECTOR OF FIELD EDUCATION BY DECEMBER 8, 2006

During the last class of the Fall semester, students should fill out the agency and field instructor evaluations from the Field Education Manual 2006. These should be handed in to the Field Education Office along with the Field Liaisons’ evaluations.


FIELD EDUCATION CALENDAR 2006-2007

SPRING SEMESTER - 2007


January 22, 2007

  • Second semester Classes and Field work begins for all BSW and MSW students.

February 16-19, 2007 - Presidents Holiday, no field work, no classes

March 17- 24, 2007 - Spring Break, no field work, no classes

March 26, 2007 - Classes and Field Work resume

April TBA

  • NASW Lobby Day at the State Capital. Students will be excused from class to participate in Hartford.

April, TBA

  • Aavo Rakfeldt Memorial Lecture

April 6 & 7, 2007 Holiday, no field work, no classes

May 9, 2007 Classes end.

May 11 2007 Field Work ends.

Two copies of the written second semester evaluations are to be mailed to The Director of Field Education, by May 5th , 2007.

This calendar serves as a guide only. Scheduling field placement hours per week should be determined according to the needs of the agency and the university’s scheduled class times.

The required number of hours must be fulfilled as follows:

  • SWK 572-573 Advanced Standing 800 hrs per academic yr.*
  • SWK 572-573 600 hours per academic year
  • SWK 570-571 500 hours per academic year
  • SWK 490-491 400 hours per academic year

* A separate field calendar will be issued for Advanced Standing students in placement.
