The mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) is to ensure educational equity for students with disabilities. We provide assistance and information on issues of access to ensure the full participation of students with disabilities at Southern.
The University adheres to the letter as well as the spirit of key laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Southern continues to monitor and make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, procedures and facilities to accommodate students with disabilities who study, work or visit our campus.
Our philosophy promotes self-awareness, self-determination, and self-advocacy skills to assist the students served by the DRC to maximize their potential and gain greater independence.
