STUDENTS SERVED
In order to respect the independence, rights and dignity of students with disabilities, the University initiates services only after a student makes a voluntary disclosure of a disability and after the DRC reviews documentation to determine eligibility for services.
The DRC serves all students who provide current documentation of a disability that substantially impacts them in an educational setting. Students with verifiable disabilities -- visible or hidden -- qualify for services.
Categories of disability include, but are not limited to the following:
- Learning disabilities
- Attention deficit disorders
- Mobility/orthopedic disabilities
- Blindness or vision impairments
- Deafness or hearing impairments
- Acquired head injuries
- Emotional/psychological disabilities
- Chronic health-related disabilities
- Speech
- Autism-spectrum disabilities
