Job Opportunities

Notetakers

The DRC is currently looking for volunteer note takers to take notes for students with a disability.Volunteers will receive early registration for their Spring 2010 courses. Qualifications and duties are as follows:

  • Note takers must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Ideally, a student will take notes for a student in his/her own classes if there is a need. Students may also volunteer to take notes for additional classes.
  • Note-takers will be given early registration privileges for the Spring 2010.
  • Inquiries- please stop by EN C105 or call 203-392-6828 and ask to speak with Jaime.


Personal and Academic Assistants

The DRC acts as a referral source for students with disabilities who need to hire assistants. If you are interested:

  • Please download the Personal and Academic Assistant Application from the following link: PERSONAL AND ACADEMIC ASSISTANT APPLICATION
  • either e-mail the completed application as an attachment to DRC@southernct.edu with the words "Application" in the subject line or mail the application to DRC, 501 Crescent Street, New Haven, CT 06515. 
  • Your application will be kept in a secure binder in the DRC and made available only to students looking to hire Personal Assistants. 
  • Students will make direct contact with you about their interest in interviewing you and/or hiring you. The student with the disability is the employer and payment information will be discussed directly with the student/employer.
