Admissions

Admission to the program requires completion of the application (either online at www.southernct.edu/grad/admissions, in person, or by mail) for graduate studies at Southern Connecticut State University as well as an interview with the program coordinator.

Program-specific admissions factors include:

  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to clearly state how program will helps student achieve career goals
  • Experience in emergency management
  • Ability to clearly express themselves at the graduate level
  • Adding diversity (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, age, professional background, social class) to the program and profession
  • Computer and Internet skills

Keep in mind that these are factors that have shown to be related to student success -- candidates are not expected to excel in every factor, but we believe very strongly in your success and want you to be able to "hit the ground running."
