Non-credit courses Offered by the Emergency and Disaster Management Program Include:

Certified Emergency Manager Peer Review Program is a no-fee, no-credit course offered by the Emergency and Disaster Management program to facilitate professional certification as a certified Emergency Manager/Associate Emergency Manager through the International Association of Emergency Managers.  Participants meet once a month over six months to work through putting together their CEM/AEM application and take the certification exam, working with peer support.

Community Emergency Response Team Training is a no-fee, no-credit 27-hour course covering Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue Operations, CERT Organization, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism  and Course Review/Disaster Simulation.  The primary goal of the program is to round out the background of Graduate Certificate participants that may not have specific experience in emergency and disaster management.  As a secondary goal, the program wants to improve the preparedness of the SCSU and Greater New Haven communities.
