Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Southern Connecticut State University seeks a creative, experienced and highly motivated professional to manage and lead all aspects of its undergraduate admissions program. The Director of Admissions will provide leadership and strategic vision for the Admissions staff and guide processes and operations. Working as a key member of the enrollment management team, the Director will develop innovative strategies to achieve institutional enrollment goals, advance the use of technology, and collaborate with internal and external constituencies to promote the University.
Required Qualifications: A master's degree and minimum of five years of substantial higher education administrative/leadership experience in Admissions, Enrollment Management, or related higher education field is required. Experience in marketing university and academic programs to prospective students and the external community. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff in a high volume office, experience with and commitment to utilizing technology appropriate for a modern admissions operation, and a proven track record in meeting institutional enrollment and strategic goals.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Sungard Banner or a similar student information system. Evidence of collaboration leading to successful partnerships with internal and external constituencies.
These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
