Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Physical Education Teacher Education (fundamental skills, individual and team sports, pedagogy, and/or curriculum development) and potentially teach undergraduate courses in the area of Human Performance (primarily Anatomy & Physiology).
Supervise student teachers and internship students at the elementary and secondary levels.
Engage in scholarly activity through publications, presentations, grant writing and/or research.
Provide professional service to the department, school, university and profession.
Advise undergraduate students and direct graduate student theses.
Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate or ABD in Exercise Science, Physical Education Pedagogy, Kinesiology or other closely related field.
*ABD candidates are encouraged to apply and should make clear what progress they have made on their dissertation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of teaching experience preferable at both public school and college levels.
Evidence of scholarly competence through publications, presentations, research and/or obtaining grants.
Ability to work and interact successfully with students and colleagues.
Additional qualifications include evidence of a commitment to diversity and the ability to utilize technology in the classroom.
