Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:  Normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach non-majors and majors introductory biology courses, upper level majors courses (including labs for all such courses), and graduate courses in their area of specialization. All biology faculty share student advising and department committee assignments and are encouraged to participate in university-level committees where possible. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and involving students in research activities.

Required Qualifications: 
A Ph.D. in Biology or Biological Sciences with a specialization in Evolutionary Developmental Biology is required. Candidates must have a strong computational background in statistics and/or molecular-genomic-proteomic bioinformatics.

Preferred Qualifications:
  Experience teaching at the college/university level and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience.  Experience with the use of small model organisms (e.g., fish/mouse/rat/guinea pig/ --or various invertebrates) for research. In addition, a  record of scholarship and being able to successfully obtain external funding for equipment and research and an understanding of the teaching university environment are desirable.
