Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University invites applications for a tenure-track position starting in Fall 2013. Applicants should be able to teach Finance and Economics courses at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. Candidates will be expected to teach introductory courses in economics and upper level courses in economics or finance. In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to share in advising and committee assignments as well as engage in research.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants are expected to have an earned doctorate in economics or finance, although candidates with an ABD will be considered. Evidence of ability to teach a diverse group of undergraduate and MBA students at the university level is important. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability to engage in meaningful scholarship/creative activity, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals in their discipline. Ability to be considered Academically Qualified or Professionally Qualified under AACSB standards or their new equivalent is critically important.

Preferred Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in economics or finance and a record of strong teaching ability and a record of peer reviewed journal publications.
The School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University has been experiencing significant growth in recent years, with increasing enrollment, significant external fundraising success and a new business building. The university is conveniently located between Boston and New York City.
