Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:


The Department of Elementary Education seeks applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate level.  The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary education.  Additional responsibilities include student advisement, student teaching supervision, department and university service, and scholarship.


Required Qualifications:


The candidate must possess:


•    An earned doctorate or be all but dissertation (ABD) in curriculum and instruction or in teacher education.  If ABD, candidate must have earned doctorate by the end of the first year of appointment;

•    A minimum of three years of full-time relevant teaching in elementary schools.

•    Evidence of ability to teach university level courses related to educating in elementary schools.

•    A strong potential for scholarly activity.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in urban school districts

Evidence of infusion of technology in pedagogy
