Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
• This is a 10-month tenure-track position.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate Exercise Science courses including Biomechanics, Strength & Conditioning, Anatomy & Physiology, and/or other courses as assigned by the Exercise Science Department Chairperson. Course content may be applied to physical activity, fitness, sport, and/or health promotion in healthy, clinical and/or special populations.
• Conduct and publish research/scholarly activity in the areas of exercise science and/or related areas of study.
• Advise and direct student research (i.e. Master's Theses, Independent Studies, Undergraduate Honor's Theses)
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students in Exercise Science - Human Performance.
• Provide professional service to the Department, School, and University.
Required Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in exercise science, kinesiology or related field.
• Evidence of ability to teach effectively at university level in related courses described above.
• Ability to engage in meaningful scholarly activity, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Potential for obtaining grants from internal and external sources.
Preferred Qualifications:
• National Strength and Conditioning Association certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS).
• Ability to work and interact successfully with students, colleagues and the community
• Professional involvement including leadership activities and certifications in ACSM, NSCA and other related organizations
