Maintenance Supervisor 2 - Grounds

TYPE OF POSITION : Full-time (37.50 hours) 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
SALARY GRADE: TC 22 /$52,941.00 -$69,236.00
CLOSING DATE: September 30, 2009
*State employees who have previously attained permanent status as a Maintenance Supervisor 2 (Grounds) and would like a lateral transfer.
Description of Duties: Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff; provides staff training and assistance; conducts performance evaluations; determines priorities and plans crew work; establishes and maintain crew procedures; develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and procedures; prepares reports and correspondence; performs some of the more skilled duties involved; supervise a large crew of highly skilled workers; may make plans and cost estimates of work to be done; performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of modern methods and equipment involved in the trade; considerable knowledge of relevant State and national codes and regulations; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; considerable ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, and sketches; supervisory ability.
General Qualifications: Six (6) years experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings.
Special Experience: Four (4) years of the General Experience must have included performing skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings. (Note: For State employees, the Special Experience will be interpreted at or above the level of Skilled Maintainer.)
