The School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University has been experiencing significant growth in recent years, with increasing enrollment, significant external fundraising success and a new business building completed in August 2012.  The university is conveniently located between Boston and New York City.

Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach introductory marketing, as well as elective courses in the field of their specialization.  This candidate is expected to engage in research and creative activity.  Faculty members are also expected to advise undergraduate students and participate in committee service.  Professional relationships with the business community in the school's environment are most welcome.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing or a closely related business field from an accredited university is required, preferably from an AACSB institution.  ABDs will be considered, although must have degree by appointment.  Candidates must demonstrate evidence of ability to teach effectively at the university level to a diverse group of undergraduate and MBA students.  In addition, candidates must demonstrate an ability to engage in meaningful scholarship, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals in their discipline.  It is critically important that the candidate be considered Academically Qualified or Professionally Qualified under AACSB standards or their new equivalent.  Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate of choice will be committed to teaching and research excellence, and provide evidence of accomplishment in these areas.  Preferences will also be given to candidates with solid industry experience in responsible positions, who can bring this to the forefront in their teaching and research.
