Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Faculty are assigned a 12-credit hour load for each semester. Credit may be earned through teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, direct and/or indirect clinical supervision, laboratory instruction, or through theses/special project advisement. In addition to classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, faculty are expected to engage in scholarship/creative activity, service and student advising.
Required Qualification:
Masters degree in Nursing, eligibility for RN/APRN licensure in the State of Connecticut. An Earned doctorate is required for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned doctorate or substantial progress towards the doctorate is a preferred qualification for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. For tenure consideration, the doctorate must be completed by the 6th year of full-time employment. Other preferred qualification include recent clinical experience, national certification(s), experience with distance/on-line education, use of high fidelity simulation, and healthcare informatics. Evidence of scholarship, leadership, and creative activity and teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level.
