Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:       
The Psychology department at Southern Connecticut State University invites applicants for a full time, tenure-track position at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology or a related field. Specialty Area: Clinical Psychology. The area of expertise is open; examples include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuropsychology, Health Psychology, Sports Psychology, and Applied Behavior Analysis. Candidates that are licensed in CT or License-eligible will be given preference.

The preferred candidate must demonstrate an active research program with evidence of research productivity; evidence of ability to teach effectively; and a demonstrated ability to supervise fieldwork, and mentor undergraduate and graduate student research. The successful candidate should be qualified to teach sections of Research Methods, Statistics, and undergraduate and graduate courses in the applicant's area of expertise. The position has a 12-hour credit load per semester, which includes credit for supervising interns, supervising student research, and supervising undergraduate and graduate theses. In addition, the candidate will be expected to share responsibilities related to advisement of Psychology Majors, and perform service activities for the Department and University. Required Qualifications: 
Applicants should have received their Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and be able to provide evidence that they are able to engage in meaningful research activity, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals in the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Prior experience teaching at the college level is highly desired, as is postdoctoral research training. Preferred candidates will also be able to demonstrate a record of scholarship/creative activity, including the ability to secure external funding.
