Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The position has a 12-hour credit load per semester, which includes credit for supervising student research as well as undergraduate and graduate theses. Candidates are expected to teach courses in their area of expertise, maintain an active research program, share responsibilities related to advisement of Psychology majors, and engage in Departmental and University service.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates are required to have: a Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment (ABD may apply); evidence of ability to engage in meaningful research activity; and evidence of ability to teach in one's area of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a specialization in Industrial/Organizational or Human Factors, but other related specializations in Applied Psychology will be considered. Preferred candidates will be able to teach courses in Industrial/Organizational, undergraduate and graduate Statistics and Experimental Methods, and serve as a research mentor for undergraduate and graduate students. Prior experience teaching at the college level is highly desired, as is postdoctoral research training. Preference will also be given to candidates who possess strong quantitative skills and can demonstrate a record of scholarship/creative activity, including the ability to secure external funding.
