Accounting Department

Rank: Associate or Assistant Professor

Specialization(s):  Tax (Graduate and Undergraduate levels), and introductory Financial and Managerial Accounting.

Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:  Preference will be given to candidates who can teach tax at both graduate and undergraduate levels, with additional teaching responsibilities in introductory Financial and Managerial accounting courses.  Additional responsibilities include productive service to the department, the business school and the university, and scholarly activities.

Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Taxation or ABD nearing completion; LLM with an accounting degree, will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:  Earned Ph.D./Terminal Degree in Accounting/Taxation.  Some evidence of scholarly/creative activity.

Management/MIS Department

Tenure-Track Position in Business Law

Southern Connecticut State University's faculty in the Department of Management/MIS are seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Business Law to start in Fall 2008 depending upon university funding.  We are interested in a colleague who could teach introductory business law courses and who has expertise in employment, real estate, international, or entrepreneurship law.

Qualifications:  Applicants must hold a JD from an accredited institution, have relevant practice experience, and have demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching and scholarly achievement.  Excellent written and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level, advising students, and engaging in scholarly work and university service.

Tenure-Track Position in Entrepreneurship

Southern Connecticut State University's faculty in the Department of Management/MIS are seeking a tenure-track faculty member to start in Spring or Fall 2008.  We are seeking a colleague with background in two or more of the following areas: entrepreneurship, international business, human resource management, and/or small business management including the management of family businesses. 

Qualifications:  Terminal degree in field required with demonstrated teaching and research stream; or, near completion of the terminal degree with extensive experience as an entrepreneur; or, professional experience that is significant in duration and level of responsibility and consistent with the area of teaching responsibilities plus continuous development activities that demonstrate the maintenance of intellectual capital (or currency in the teaching field) consistent with the teaching responsibilities.  Excellent written and communication skills required.
