Assistant Professor of Special Education & Reading

Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:  
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the special education teacher preparation program with emphasis on autism spectrum disorders and other low incidence disabilities. The successful candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students; provide professional service to the Department, School of Education and the University; engage in scholarly and/or creative activity; and develop collaborative partnerships with university colleagues, local PK-12 schools, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications: 

Earned doctorate or ABD in special education or closely related field. If ABD, candidate must have earned doctorate by time of appointment. Minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience in PK-12 schools. Evidence of ability to teach university level courses.  Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other low incidence disabilities. Record of, or strong potential for, scholarly activity.

Preferred Qualifications: 
BCBA certificate
