Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching modern Peninsular literature or trans-Atlantic subjects, coordinating the basic language program, teaching language courses. All faculty share student advising and committee assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Spanish, Applied Linguistics or related field, native or near-native fluency in Spanish, Evidence of ability to teach university level literature and language courses effectively. Ability to engage in meaningful scholarship/creative activity, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals in the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to specialists with teaching experience at the undergraduate level. in Modern Spanish literature and culture with a background in Spanish linguistics, language acquisition, language teaching methods or experience coordinating basic Spanish language programs.
