English Department Graduate Programs

Welcome to the web site of the Graduate Division of the English Department at Southern Connecticut State University. This page is designed to introduce ourselves to you and to tell you a little bit about our programs. We offer Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Creative Writing degrees, as well as a teacher certification program that can be combined with the M.S. Degree. Our programs are diverse, and we feature concentrations in British Literature, American Literature, African-American literature, and Rhetoric & Composition Studies. Our courses are designed to serve a variety of needs including Ph.D. preparation, personal enrichment, and the meeting of state teacher certification requirements.

To visit their web page, click on EDGE. They also have an email mailing list known as EGADS. If you wish your name to be included on it, contact Dr. Ken Florey at floreyk1@southernct.edu
Graduation Degree Deadlines The awarding of a Master's Degree is not an automatic process. Students must apply for graduation by obtaining a "Graduate Degree Application" form from the Registrar's Office and returning it by the established deadlines listed on their page.
In addition, students who wish to participate in the June commencement exercises must notify the graduate office by February.
