Sarah Strong, a student in SCSU's MFA program, has had her poem "Basement" accepted for publication by Southwest Review. 

Brian Johnson has been chosen to receive the 2010 SCSU Faculty Scholar Award based on his book Torch Lake & Other Poems (Del Sol Press, 2008).

Scott Ellis has received the 2010 Connecticut State University System-Level Teaching Award.

The Twelfth Annual Graduate Student Conference will be held in April 2011 at the Adanti Student Center.  If you would like to propose a paper, check back for abstract submission deadlines in Fall 2010.

Paul Petrie has received the Faculty Scholar Award for his book Conscience and Purpose. Fiction and Social Consciousness in Howells, Jewett, Chesnutt, and Cather (University of Alabama Press, Studies in American Literary Realism and Naturalism series, 2005).
