African American Women's Summit


The 14th Annual African American Women's Summit, "Standing on the Shoulders of Our Sisters: Reclaiming Our History, Community, and Ourselves," co-sponsored by the Women's Studies Program with African American Women's Summit, a Sisters' Collective in New Haven.

A program in the annual 64 Days of Nonviolence series of events.

64 DAYS OF NON-VIOLENCE 2009
The 64 Days officially begins on January 30, the day Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, and ends on April 4, the day we commemorate Dr. King.  In our sixth annual observation, we continue to celebrate the many cultures and heritages among us, including our observation of Black History Month, Women's History Month, and Asian/Pacific Heritage Month.
