Exhibit: "New Haven's African-American Heritage"
The exhibit, "New Haven's African-American Heritage: A Bridge to Today," runs February 4 - August 28 at the Ethnic Heritage Center, 270 Fitch Street. The exhibit's run has been extended due to the overwhelming response it has received from the public, says Ann Newhall (right), director of the Ethnic Heritage Center.
The collection -- which includes books, photos, news clippings, film footage, diaries, letters, trophies, posters, transcripts, records, and even a stained glass window -- documents more than a century of African-American experiences in New Haven.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Other times by appointment.
Admission is free. For more information, call (203) 392-6126.
