09/30 - Time: 1 p.m.
Holocaust Memorial Exhibit Opening Reception
The Memory & Legacy exhibit, currently on display in the Multicultural Center, tells the
story of The New Haven Holocaust Memorial -- the first Holocaust memorial built on public land -- and strives to
preserve these memories for future generations, promoting tolerance and
understanding, so the words "never again" are a reality.
The exhibit's opening reception welcomes Holocaust survivors, along with members of the New Haven and Southern communities. The reception will include a welcome from President Cheryl Norton, testimony from survivors, a memory ceremony, reflections, musical entertainment, and more.
The exhibit is presented by The Southern Connecticut State University Multicultural Center, The Jewish Historical Society of Greater New Haven, and The Greater New Haven Holocaust Memory.
With support from the Judaic Studies Program, English Department, Student Support Services, Biology Department, Public Affairs Office, and Political Science Department.
