Rolling Stone Writer Paul Solotaroff


paul solotaroffPaul Solotaroff is a senior writer at Men's Journal and Rolling Stone. His memoir, The Body Shop, details his own use of steroids in the '70s, his hilarious and strange work as an exotic dancer to support his habit, and his spiral into the dangerous culture of drug abuse. His recent feature stories include the explosive interviews with the Steelers' James Harrison and former New York Giant Plaxico Burress, for which he appeared on ESPN numerous times. His most recent feature in Men's Journal explores the early days of competitive weight-lifting and the prostitution and raucous, Venice-Beach culture that it created. He has written features for Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, and the New York Times Magazine, and was a finalist for a National Magazine Award in 2004 for an article about teaching his disabled son to surf as therapy. His work has been extensively featured in Best American Sports Writing. The author of three books, The Body Shop, Group and The House of Purple Hearts, he lives in New York City.
