Director of Special Academic Programs and Sessions

Southern Connecticut State University seeks applications for the position of Director of Special Academic Programs and Sessions (Search #13-028). Reporting to the Provost, this position assists the Provost in providing administrative leadership and direction to special academic programs and sessions, including winter and summer sessions. This position identifies, develops, promotes, and implements revenue-generating special programs throughout the year, including credit and non-credit on-line and hybrid programs, certificates, seminars, conferences, workshops, institutes, entrepreneurial programs, etc. This position is also responsible for budgeting, planning, promoting, growing and implementing the University's winter and summer session course offerings, including assisting with the development of online and hybrid course offerings.


A Master's degree and at least seven years of demonstrated, progressive higher education administrative leadership and/or business/sales/entrepreneurial success with a proven track record in strengthening and expanding self-sustaining, continuing and professional education programs and/or meeting aggressive sales/revenue targets is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Doctorate preferred. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
