Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU), conveniently located between Boston and New York City, has been experiencing significant growth in recent years. The School of Business has had increasing enrollments, significant external fundraising success and now occupies a new LEED certified building since August 2012. The School of Business recently adopted the tag line "Change for Good," and a focus on sustainability, the triple bottom line, student professional development and business community engagement are woven throughout its programs.
The department of accounting currently has a vacancy for a Financial and/or Managerial Accounting generalist to teach Introductory, Intermediate, and Managerial Accounting courses as necessary. Successful candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Scholarly activities, productive service and student advisement are required; engagement within the business community is expected.

Applicants for the position should have either an earned doctorate in accounting or business. Strong candidates with an ABD will be considered. Evidence of ability to teach effectively at the university level is required. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to engage in meaningful scholarship/creative activity, leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals in their discipline. Ability to be classified as qualified faculty under AACSB standards is critically important.
Practical financial and/or managerial accounting experience is preferred.
