Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Faculty are assigned a 12-credit hour load for each semester. Credit may be earned
through teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, direct and/or
indirect clinical supervision, laboratory instruction, or through thesis/special project/dissertation
advisement. In addition to classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, faculty
are expected to engage in scholarship/creative activity, service and student advising.
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in nursing, eligibility for APRN licensure in the State of Connecticut,
Family Nurse Practitioner certification. Earned doctorate or substantial progress
towards the doctorate. Candidate must complete doctorate within two years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include recent family nurse practitioner clinical experience,
experience with distance/on-line education, use of high fidelity simulation, and healthcare
informatics. Evidence of scholarship, leadership, creative activity, and teaching
experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level strongly preferred.
