Services

The following services are offered to our members. Please note that services are only provided at certain times during the semester and may be limited to trainer availability. 

 

Personal Training -

 AVAILABLE TO CURRENT   STUDENT MEMBERS  ONLY    (including Team Training).                 

5   sessions:   $17/session                        

     Total:        $85                                                       

10 sessions:    $15/session                        

      Total:        $150                                  

  • Consists of exercise testing session and minimum of 5 sessions with our trainer.
  • Come to the Fitness Center to pick up a copy of the Personal Trainer Application!
  • Limited to trainer availability.

  • All fees must be paid with Hoot Loot at or before the time of the Fitness Assessment.
  • Personal trainers not hired or authorized by the Assistant Director Student Center, Fitness Center may not train clients within the SCSU Fitness Center. When found doing so, the trainer & client will lose membership privileges. 

 

TEAM TRAINING-

Current Student Members only.

Small group training where our trainers challenge you and help you get fit at a fraction of the price!

6 Week Program: starts 1/24/13!

Choose 1 session per week for $35 fee (total for 6 sessions).

Choose 2 sessions per week for $70 (total for 12 sessions).

Days and times of week offered: Mondays and Wednesdays at 10am and other dates and times based on client request!!

If you are interested in signing up, stop by the Fitness Center to pick up your application or email us at fitness@southernct.edu and we will send you one.  If you already know you have medical concerns, please request a physician's clearance request from your doctor now.

 

FITNESS COACHING- Free!  

  • Learn more about the fitness center and to become familiarized with all equipment and general advice on where to begin with a fitness program.
  • Feel more confident about using all exercise equipment properly.
  • Call 392-8971 to make an appointment!
  • This service provided is free and you can sign up with a friend if you prefer to learn more together.

 

Blood Pressure Screening-Free!

  • Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. By monitoring high blood pressure, one can significantly decrease the risks that cause this disease.
  • We will provide free screenings to members who make an appointment with the graduate intern on a limited basis.

     

  Body Composition - $5 students; $8 fac/staff

  • Find out how much fat and lean mass your body contains.

Fitness assessment and PERSONAL Fitness plan- $20/students

  • Find out your physical fitness status.
  • Have one of our trainers design a personalized program for you!

Fitness Consultation and/or assessment follow-ups

  • After 6 weeks from initial appointment, you may set up another appointment to note progress and make changes in goals and/or exercise program.

Note: If a member is involved in a medical incident or if the staff determines a member is at "increased risk" from a health screening form or during a screening test, that member's Fitness Center privileges may be suspended until the member provides a completed medical clearance form to the Assistant Director, Fitness Center . Any health information collected by staff will be treated as confidential and will be kept private to the extent the law allows.
