Fitness Consultation - $5 student; $8 fac/staff

(includes body composition)

  • Fitness consultations will be offered to members who call and sign up with the trainer. Space is limited, so appointments will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

  •  Fitness Consultations will be a one-on-one session with the trainer to meausre body composition and help the client identify barriers, goals, and expected outcomes. Short term and long-term goals will be made in efforts to have a personal baseline for exercise and determining progression of participant.

  • Body composition is a measurement of the percentage of body fat and lean weight a person's body contains. This may be obtained by several methods including the skin fold calipers, bioelectrical impedance analyzer, and circumference measurements.
  •

  • Knowing and recording body composition and other anthropometric measurements provide initial values, prior to exercise programming, in order to note changes in fat and muscle content, as well as weight. This will help to determine the effectiveness of the program. These measurements help identify risks of particular diseases including, but not limited to Cardiovascular Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, and Stroke.

  • Fitness consultations will be provided in the privacy of the graduate intern office with the trainer at the SCSU Fitness Center .

  • Participants will have to call the fitness center and speak directly to the trainer to set up appointments.

  •  Goal setting is a great motivational tool to get you started with your exercise program, as well as letting the trainer get to know you better.

  • Fitness consultations will be offered at a cost of $5/student and $8/faculty/staff members. All payments must be made with Hootloot.

  • Limitations:  Individuals must wait 6 weeks between Fitness consultation appointments.
