Workout Wednesdays
Workout Wednesdays are the latest addition to the services we provide to our members and the SCSU community! This new service is a series of 4 workshops designed to help you get the most out of your workouts! Whether you are a beginner exerciser, or just want to get out of your boring workout routine, these workshops are designed just for you! All workshops take place here, at the SCSU Fitness Center at 2pm. Non-members welcome, so bring a friend!

Sept 24th - 2pm Designing Your Own Workout Program
Come join us to learn the major components of a workout program including cardiovascular training, weight training, stretching and how to put them all together to reach your goals.
In this workshop you will learn:
• The importance of cardio and strength training
• How often you should do cardio workouts
• When you should weight train
• How to use a workout card
• How to progress your workout safely
• Safe and effective stretches

Oct 1st - 2pm Beyond the "Quick Start"
Come learn how to create an effective cardiovascular workout program by using the many features on our cardio equipment.
In this workshop you will learn:
• How to design a cardiovascular workout
• The importance of cardiovascular workout
• All the features and workouts on the cardiovascular machines
• The importance of target heart rate, and how to measure it
• Do's and Don'ts about each machine
• Alternatives to using machines
• Try out our BRAND NEW EFX machines!!

Oct 29th - 2pm Strength Training 101
Come learn how to use every piece of strength training equipment in the fitness center, including machines and free weights.
In this workshop you will learn:
• How to design a strength training workout
• The importance of strength training
• How to use each machine and tips on other equipment
• About the FITT principal including frequency, intensity, time and type
• Do's and Don'ts about each machine
• Ways to incorporate into your life without heavy machinery

Nov 19th - 2pm Flexibility and Injury Prevention
Come learn the importance of stretching and how to safely perform certain stretches.
In this workshop you will learn:
• When stretching is appropriate
• The importance of stretching
• Safe and effective stretches
• Do's and Don'ts about stretching
• Ways to incorporate stretching into your daily life
