Part-time Faculty Orientation

All part-time faculty are cordially invited to the third annual Southern Connecticut State University Part-Time Faculty Reception and Orientation, to be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 (5:30 - 8 p.m.) in the Grand Ballroom of the Michael J. Adanti Student Center.

The event celebrates the many contributions that part-time faculty make to the Southern community.  It will also provide valuable information about Southern and introduce the wide variety of resources available to support part-time faculty and their students.

The event begins with a reception so you can network while enjoying some hors d'oeuvres and dinner hour snacks.  Programming for the evening includes a welcome from our campus leaders, a presentation on "Outstanding Teaching and Outstanding Advice for Adjuncts" by Lois Lake Church (2008 Recipient, J. Philip Smith Award for Outstanding Teaching), above, and Dave Denino (2007 Recipient, J. Philip Smith Award for Outstanding Teaching), at left, and an Interactive Resource Fair with representatives from Faculty Development, the Faculty Mentoring Program, AAUP, Human Resources, Student Affairs, Buley Library, and Instructional Technology.
