SCSU Swimming Rules!

The SCSU men's swimming and diving team has captured its ninth Northeast-10 Conference title in 10 years, finishing 146 points ahead of second-place Bentley. The women's swimming and diving team has won its tenth straight Northeast-10 Conference championship. The championships ended on Sat., Feb. 2.

 

Women's Team Results

Senior Amanda Thomas (Oakville, Conn.) finished her historic career a five-time Northeast-10 Champion in 2012. She finished Saturday with a first-place mark in the Women's 200 yard Backstroke event with a time of 2:00.58, which broke the previously held Northeast-10 record set back in 2012. Thomas was named the Northeast-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player as she took five first-place marks on the weekend making it the fourth year in a row she has won the award.

The Owls finished with 907 points running away from second-place Bentley, who finished with 721. Assumption took third (666), Saint Rose fourth (425), Le Moyne fifth (353), Pace sixth (329), Adelphi seventh (238) and Saint Michael's (172).

Men's Team Results

Sophomore Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn.) was named the Northeast-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player for the men's side as he took first-place in the Men's 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:02.72, taking home his third individual Northeast-10 Championship and makes him a seven-time Northeast-10 Champion this year.

The Owls had 801 points, Bentley took second (655), Le Moyne third (621), Saint Rose fourth (580), Pace fifth (417), Adelphi sixth (305) and Saint Michael's seventh (181).
