Voices of September 11th

Internship Job Descriptions -

New Canaan, CT Office

[A number of ILS students have interned at VOICES, learning new skills. All report an exceptional experience working with very knowledgeable and dedicated staff.]

Voices of September 11th (VOICES) was co-founded by Mary Fetchet, a clinical social worker and educator following the death of her 24 year old son Brad in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  VOICES acts as a clearing house of information and provides programs, resources and case management services to all those impacted by 9/11.   In 2006, VOICES launched the 9/11 Living Memorial Project to commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost and document the firsthand account of survivors, rescue and recovery workers as well as hundreds of memorials and foundations that were created in their memory.  VOICES professional staff has met with over 800 families from around the country to create an extensive historical record of over 40,000 photographs, written materials and personal keepsakes.  Last November we began our international outreach by traveling to London to meet with the families of the 67 UK victims.  The 9/11 Living Memorial is currently online at www.911livingmemorial.org and will be incorporated into the exhibit at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and other notable institutions.  With offices in New Canaan, Connecticut and New Brunswick, New Jersey the organization has an active website and distributes information to over 11,000 members living around the world.  Visit www.voicesofsept11.org for more information or contact our office at 203-966-3911.
