International Student Services

Since the first studia generale established in Europe centuries ago, universities have been intellectual melting pots for scholars from around the world. Free to share ideas and collaborate in research, academics from all nations have gathered in universities to extend the reach of human knowledge and creativity in science, the humanities, and the arts.

At Southern Connecticut State University, International Student Services promotes the multinational, multicultural flavor of the university by assisting undergraduate and graduate students from countries as varied as Japan, the United Kingdom, Senegal, Finland, and the Fiji Islands.

WHERE IS THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES OFFICE, AND WHAT ARE ITS HOURS?

The International Student Services Office, a component of Student Supportive Services, is in Michael Adanti Student Center, room 231. The office is open from 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, Monday - Friday and from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Mondays and Wednesdays. You may drop by or telephone (203) 392-6821 or (203)392-6947.
 

MANDAORY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION

 

Please be advised, At the beginning of each semester International students are required to attend an orientation scheduled by the International advisor (PDSO).  This orientation will serve as an informative session for the New and transfer F-1 students where they learn about important F-1 regulations in addition to other important university policies.  The primary purpose of this orientation is to clarify any questions the students may have and to familiarize them with the international advisor and other students and faculty members.

* Failure to attend the mandatory orientation will result in a hold placement on the student's record which will prevent class registration.

* THE SPRING 2010 INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION IS ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY THE 3rd, 2010.
