A minor in journalism can help students in every field,
from anthropology and art, to sociology, special education, and theater. Many
students choose journalism as a major or as a minor in their pre-professional
studies for careers in law or public service. Journalism is also helpful for
students interested primarily in specialized writing in the area of their
interest, such as business and economics, environmental studies, and political
science. Many students with liberal studies majors select journalism as one of
their three minors. Graduates soon discover that the ability to write easily
and well is as important an asset in their careers as it was during their
college years. For a minor in journalism, students should contact professors
Harris, Dunklee or Simoneau for advisement.
