Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) Program Applications Deadline

Today is the deadline for applications for the Werth Industry Academic Fellowship program for the summer of 2018.

The Werth Family Foundation-sponsored Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) program at the CSCU-CNT provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to conduct team-based interdisciplinary research. During the course of this eight-week summer program, IAF students will conduct research in collaboration with educators and industry professionals, while exploring the business-related aspects of technology. Students will work part-time on their projects during the spring and fall semesters. Research teams will be working on nanotechnology projects with topics including nano-medicine and nano-environmental studies.

2018 Industry Academic Fellowship Flyer

  • Dates – June 4, 2018 – July 27, 2018
  • Eligibility – This program is open to highly motivated undergraduate science students in all disciplines who have completed their sophomore year.
  • Stipend – Each participant will receive a stipend of up to $5,000; $3,000 during the eight weeks in the summer (June and July), and $2,000 during the preceding spring and following fall semesters.
  • Application – The selection of IAF candidates is based on a personal statement, resume, academic transcript, and one letter of recommendation.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2018.

4th Annual Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference

The Undergraduate Research Conference is an inclusive event giving SCSU undergraduate students a unique, local opportunity to gain experience presenting scholarly papers, posters, art exhibitions and live performances.  It is open to all undergraduates and is a way for them to showcase their ongoing projects here at Southern. The conference is attended by students, family members, friends, and faculty members.
