SCSU "fighting owl" drumline

The Music Department, in collaboration with the Athletic Department, is looking for anyone interested in joining the first-ever SCSU Drumline!  The group will perform at all SCSU home football games, primarily playing for the crowds during halftime.  Auditions for the 2008-2009 season will take place Saturday, May 31st: Snares Drums @ 10am, Tenor and Bass Drums @2pm.  Those selected will be required to attend a mandatory 2-week Drumline Camp during the last two weeks of August.  Interested?  Contact Craig Hlavac for more information. 

 

Fall 2008 Drumline Audition Materials

At this time, the 2008 SCSU Drumline is looking for drummers playing only battery instruments (snare, tenor, bass, cymbals).  Auditions will be comprised of rudiment performance, cadence performance, and a short sight-reading.

All specific rudiment requirements are listed below, and should be prepared at the Gold or above metronome markings.

Quadrant A (1-10)                       

Quadrant B (11-20) 

Quadrant C (21-30)

Quadrant D (31-40)

Snare: Rudiments 12, 14, 27, 38, 39, 40

Tenor: Rudiments 12, 14, 27, 28, 39, 40

Bass: Rudiments 3, 5, 12, 15 (M.M. Quarter note = 60)
