The Graduate Nursing Student Poster Presentation will be held on April 29th, 2008.
Come and join us at the Graduate Program Poster Session which will be held on April 29th , 2008 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the Nursing Buiding. Students will be presenting their Thesis or Special Project posters during that time.

Special Project: Students interested in NUR 592 in the Fall of 2007 must submit a proposal to the Graduate Program Coordinator. Guidelines for the proposal can be found on the Special Project's page on this site. Please be sure to meet with Dr. Santavenere before completing the proposal.
Students taking any clinical course in the Fall of 2008 must pass the health assessment screening exam before taking the course. Students planning to enroll in NUR 526 in the Fall of 2008 are strongly encouraged to complete this screening exam before taking this course as it builds on basic heatlh assessment content and skills. Dr. Santavenere will be holding a 2 day review course. The review course dates will be announced. Test dates will also be published at a later date.

May 2008 Graduates:
If you expect to graduate in May 2008, please be aware that you will need to submit an application for graduation to the Graduate School by November 9, 2007. These applications are available online by clicking on www.southernct.edu. Click on Current Students, then Registrar. You will NOT graduate on time if you fail to submit the proper paperwork.
New course offering:
Course Title: IDS 580 Interdisciplinary Health Care Collaboration for Older Adults
This course will provide interdisciplinary classroom and field experiences at selected agencies for graduate students in the School of Health and Human Services who are considering exploring the field of gerontology. In addition to providing students with a holistic approach that recognizes that older adults must be viewed in the context of ther biological, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs, the course will enhance students' understanding of each discipline's professional role in providing health care to elders. Classroom and field observations wil highlight professional issues that contribute to supports and barriers to greater collaborative efforts. The course will focus on methods for enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation at both the clinical and organizational levels.
It is open to seniors with departmental permission and to all graduate students.
