New course offering:
Course Title:  IDS 580 Interdisciplinary Health Care Collaboration for Older Adults

This course will provide interdisciplinary classroom and field experiences at selected agencies for graduate students in the School of Health and Human Services who are considering exploring the field of gerontology.  In addition to providing students with a holistic approach that recognizes that older adults must be viewed in the context of their biological, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs, the course will enhance students' understanding of each discipline's professional role in providing health care to elders.  Classroom and field observations will highlight professional issues that contribute to supports and barriers to greater collaborative efforts.  The course will focus on methods for enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation at both the clinical and organizational levels.

It is open to seniors with departmental permission and to all graduate students.
