Fall 2012 Club and Organization Registration Information and End of the Year Transition Information for Club/Organization Advisors
To all current Club and Organization Advisors:
Thank you for your continued participation and support of the SCSU club(s) and organization(s) that you advise. Your hard work is much appreciated and is making a positive impact. Through your advisement our students and student groups have had a great year.
We would like to make you aware of the following information and deadlines that we are have sent to clubs and organizations, these deadlines have been set up in order to ease the transition between former and newly elected executive boards.
Student Government Association, in collaboration with the Office of Student Life, request that you submit an Advisor Agreement form to the Office of Student Life, ASC 212, if you will be continuing your participation as an Advisor for the upcoming 2012-2013 Academic Year. The Advisor Agreement can be found here: http://www.southernct.edu/officeofstudentlife under "Forms and Applications." We will only be able to accept hard copies this semester so that we may ensure authenticity of your signature. We are requesting all clubs and organizations to complete the following and we ask that you assist in this process by encouraging and supporting the club or organization you advise through this process.

o In order to be eligible for an award at Leadership Banquet, this form must be submitted by April 25. However, it isn't due until May 18th.

Advisor Agreement form for 2012-2013 academic year
o Advisor Agreement must be completed by the advisor of the club or organization. Please submit a hard copy only.
Complete Club Beneficiary Form
All fundraising and financial paperwork from Spring 2012 must be resolved
o Exceptions for fundraisers and/or purchases made between May 1 and May 18. This paperwork must be resolved by May 28 or as stated by existing SCSU policies.
Purchases from operating budgets cannot be made after May 18th.
DEADLINES
May 18: All paperwork listed above must be submitted by May 18 to be recognized as a club or organization for the Fall 2012 semester AND to receive an operating budget for the first day of classes as well as holding fundraisers and to be eligible for $200 of non-funded club advertisement.
August 24: All paperwork listed above must be submitted by August 24 to be recognized as a club or organization for the Fall 2012 semester AND to receive a decreased operating budget in October as well as hold fundraisers and to be eligible for $200 of non-funded club advertisement.
Organizations that submit paperwork after August 24 may be recognized after meeting with Student Life but will NOT be eligible to receive an operating budget for the Fall 2012 semester and may not be eligible to hold fundraisers, or be eligible for $200 of non-funded club advertisement.
We are encouraging the involvement of the newly elected E-Board in this process in order to help ensure a smooth transition into the upcoming academic year.
The Office of Student Life will be holding transition workshops in the Resource Room, ASC 217, every Wednesday in April from 1pm-2pm (4/11, 4/18, and 4/25). These workshops are intended to help assist clubs with the transition process and to ensure that the upcoming academic year goes as smoothly as possible.
