Community Engagement

Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget Do more than dream: work.

-William Arthur Ward

Here at Southern being involved in the community has become a tradition that we are proud to uphold. The University values community service, civic engagement, and social responsibility by all university members and encourages the integration of these principles in the learning experiences of students, invites community participation in the university affairs, and promotes local, regional, national and international collaborations.

Click here for the Community Service Information Form. This form is to be completed before an event is held. If your club or organization is having an event, we want to know about it! We would love to help you recruit volunteers and to help publicize your event. Please also send any publicity for the event to Kim Peterson at petersonk5@southernct.edu (as a Word document, PDF or JPEG).

Donate a mammogram

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble  getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of  donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It  takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a  mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you  a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/
