2009 banner contest 

The Office of Student Life in conjunction with the Homecoming Committee is sponsoring the campus-wide traditional homecoming banner contest! All Residence Halls, Clubs and Organizations are eligible to submit banners. Banners will be judged on creativity and originality, decoration and artistic design, school spirit, and use of this year's theme.

Residence Hall contest- The Homecoming Committee is sponsoring the contest for the nine residence halls .The first place winner will receive $300.00, second place $200.00, and third place $100.00. The funds will be directly deposited into the winning Hall Council's accounts.

Club and Organization contest- The Homecoming Committee  is sponsoring the Club and Organization contest. All clubs and organizations participating must be officially recognized by Southern Connecticut State University. The first place winner will receive $300.00, second place $200.00, and third place $100.00. The funds will be directly deposited into the winning Club or Organization account.

All entries are eligible for the overall grand prize of $500.00.

All clubs, organizations, and residence halls that enter banners will receive $25 just for entering!

Banners are 8' by 4' sheets of canvas and are available through the Office of Student Life beginning October 7th from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Applications are to be submitted prior to obtaining a banner. Banners can be dropped off  between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting Monday, October 15th and are due no later than 4pm on Wednesday, October 17th.

The name of your organization must be clearly spelled on the banner (i.e. not just a Greek letters). The banners will be hung outside so please be sure to use waterproof materials and paints.  We will not take responsibility for damaged banners due to the weather. Banners will be judged on creativity, artistic design, and how well the theme was incorporated into the design.
