For the convenience of our students and their families, the Bursar's Office offers a variety of payment options. In addition to offering convenient payment plans, the following payment methods are accepted: Cash; personal check, cashier's check or money order; credit card; debit card; online payments and wire transfers.
Cash payments can be made in person at the Bursar's Office cashier window, located in the Wintergreen Building Room 121 during regular hours of operation. Please do not mail cash payments.
Personal Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order
Check payments may be paid in person at the Bursar's Office cashier window or deposited into the Drop Payment Box, located to the left side of the cashier window in the Wintergreen Building Room 121.
You may also mail in your personal check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to Southern Connecticut State University to the following address:Southern Connecticut State University

Include the student's name and student ID number on the check, along with a request for receipt with your payment if you would like one to be mailed to you. Unidentifiable checks will be returned back to the address on the check unprocessed.
Please note that personal checks returned back from the bank as uncollectible will be assessed a $20.00 returned payment service fee and will prevent the student account from payment by check in the future.
The University accepts credit card payments with American Express, Discover and MasterCard online only. We are unable to process credit card payments in person or through the mail. See "Online Payments" below for more details about making online payments.

Southern accepts payment with debit cards in-person and online. Debit card payments are processed fee-free, unlike credit card payments. However, some bank debit cards (including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and US Bank) have chosen not to participate in online debit transactions.
Hoot Loot (Campus Debit Account)
Students may elect to pay non-institutional charges (including parking tickets, lost ID card fee, prescriptions, etc.) using Hoot Loot funds (that have been deposited onto their SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card). Simply present your SCSU Hoot Loot ID Card at the Bursar's Office cashier window to pay for all or a portion of the balance due. Hoot Loot may not be used to pay tuition, registration/course fees and housing charges.

Students and authorized users can make online payments with an electronic check (eCheck), debit card or with a credit card. To make an online payment if you are a student please click here and if you're an authorized user, please click here.
Credit Card Payment Notice
Credit card payments will be processed on SCSU's behalf through the TouchNet PayPath payment service (this service is part of the eBill Suite students currently use to make payment and/or view their eBill statements) that has been certified compliant with credit card security regulations, ensuring continued security for students and authorized users' financial data. For all credit card transactions SCSU will assess a 2.5% non-refundable convenience fee.

- Please do not use the back button/arrow to navigate to a previous page. Doing so may cause unpredictable results.
- When submitting your payment, only press the Submit button once. Please be patient, it may take several moments to process your payment and pressing the submit button more than once may result in multiple payments being processed.
- If you experience difficulties making online payments or have made a payment in error with your credit card, please contact the Bursar's Office via email or telephone at 203-392-6140.
- Payments returned from the bank as uncollectible will be assessed a $20.00 returned payment service fee and will result in a block being placed on the student's account.

Wire Transfer Information
The Bursar's Office can accept wire transfers for payment of tuition and fees. Wire transfer payments, both domestic and international are accepted. Please contact the Bursar's Office by telephone at 203-392-6140 to obtain Southern's bank routing information.
Exchange rate information
Southern Connecticut State University accepts all payments in United States currency and does not assume any liability for losses that may result from foreign exchange rate differences.
