Chapter 1606 - GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)

The Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserve for qualified service members with service after June 30, 1985

New and First Time Transfer Students

Students new to the University and utilizing the MGBI-Selected Reserve benefit will need to complete/submit the following:

• VA Form 22-1990 Application for Education Benefits (New Students)
• DD Form 2384 Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), which is issued from service member's Reserve or Guard unit upon eligibility. (New Students)
• VA Form 22-1995 Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (Transfer Students)
• Complete the Web Authorization Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) through the Department of Veteran's Affairs website.
  This form initiates the enrollment verification process through the VA
• SCSU VA Request for Enrollment Certification available from the Bursar's Office website.
  This form is used to provide required information to the Bursar's Office as part of the VA enrollment certification process

Continuing Students

Continuing students utilizing the MGBI-Selected Reserve benefit will need to complete/submit the following each academic year:

• Complete the Web Authorization Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) through the Department of Veteran's Affairs website.
  This form initiates the enrollment verification process through the VA
• SCSU VA Request for Enrollment Certification available from the Bursar's Office website.
  This form is used to provide required information to the Bursar's Office as part of the VA enrollment certification process
