Anti-Spam Gateway

Email spam causes loss of productivity and adds strain on network resources. Southern uses SonicWall for its anti-spam solution. SonicWall is designed to scan and block spam and viruses before they reach the campus email servers. Blocked messages are stored in a quarantine area that is accessible using a web browser and can be released by the user. Messages in the quarantine area are deleted after 7 days. Note that SonicWall works with both Exchange and MySCSU emails.

How to Access Blocked Emails

  1. Log into MySCSU
  2. Click the SonicWall EMS link on the left hand side of the page.
  3. You will then see your entire junk box.
  4. Unjunk the messages that you would like to receive.
  5. The remaining messages will be deleted after 7 days.

The emails in your SonicWall junk box do not count toward your email quota.
