Email spam causes loss of productivity and adds strain on network resources. Southern uses SonicWall for its anti-spam solution. SonicWall is designed to scan and block spam and viruses before they reach the campus email servers. Blocked messages are stored in a quarantine area that is accessible using a web browser and can be released by the user. Messages in the quarantine area are deleted after 7 days. Note that SonicWall works with both Exchange and MySCSU emails.
How to Access Blocked Emails
- Log into MySCSU
- Click the SonicWall EMS link on the left hand side of the page.
- You will then see your entire junk box.
- Unjunk the messages that you would like to receive.
- The remaining messages will be deleted after 7 days.
The emails in your SonicWall junk box do not count toward your email quota.
