OWLS Suite - SkyDrive

The OWLS Suite is a collection of web-based services brought to you by a collaboration between SCSU and Microsoft. The suite includes services such as: OWLS Mail, Southern's new student e-mail system; Office Live, a document collaboration tool; and SkyDrive, an online file storage service.

SkyDrive

Windows Live SkyDrive is part of Microsoft's Windows Live range of online services. SkyDrive is a file storage and sharing service that allows you to upload files, photos, and favorites to an online shared area that are accessed from a web browser. You can share photos and files that you create with your friends, collaborate on documents, or display photos and files that you create to anyone on the Windows Live network. SkyDrive offers:

  • Storage: 25GB of personal storage with individual file size limits of 50 MB.
  • Organization: Arrange your files in top-level folders and subfolders that you create.
  • Control: Set the permissions for each top-level folder that you create. You can also keep your photos, files, and favorites in personal folders that only you control. You can also keep your items in shared folders so you can share them.
  • Convenience: Keep track of your favorite websites even when you aren't using your own computer.
  • Flexibility: Upload any photo or file up to 50 MB in size.
  • Display: Save photos as: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, TIF, and TIFF
  • Sharing: Share links directly to your folders, files and photos

Please respect the intellectual property of others. SkyDrive provides a location for storing your files online, but it's not an FTP site, nor does it function with an FTP client.
