How to Obtain Technical Support
There are several ways to obtain technical support:
(1) Telephone & Email: You can reach Help Desk or Service Centers at extension 25123 or helpdesk@southernct.edu.
(2) In person: You may visit one of the locations listed above.
(3) Knowledge Base: You may find answers to frequently asked questions in Knowledge Base.
Equipment Drop-off
Faculty and staff can drop off university computing equipment for diagnosis/repair or service without making an appointment with a service technician. Equipment can be dropped off at OIT Help Desk in OB1, 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday and Buley Service Center, 10:00am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
You will be notified when your equipment is repaired and ready to be picked up. Equipments can be picked up at Buley Service Center, 10:00am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
If it is not possible to drop off or pick up your equipment at these times, appointments can be made with technical support staff by contacting them directly. Once an appointment is made, you will receive a confirmation Help Desk work order specifying the date, time, location of the appointment, and the responsible service technician. Please bring a copy of the work order to your appointment.
You are expected to drop-off and pick-up laptops and other mobile devices. For non-mobile equipments such as desktops and printers, you may schedule an appointment with an IT technician via OIT Help Desk for pick-up and drop-off at your office. If the equipment is installed at an off-campus location, you must drop it off at OB1 or Buley Service Center and pick it up when it is repaired.
