Wireless Network

SCSU offers wireless Internet to the campus community. Wireless networking is available in lobbies, sitting areas, and classrooms across campus. See the wireless coverage map to find out what areas contain wireless Internet.

To connect to the SCSU wireless network, you must have an 802.11a/b/g compliant wireless Ethernet card installed in your mobile device. In addition, all Windows and Macintosh computers will have the Clean Access Agent installed. You will be required to log in through the Clean Access Agent each time you access the wireless network. Along with having the Agent installed on the computers, all Windows computers will also be required to have antivirus software installed and updated with the latest virus definitions/signatures. We recognize three anti-virus vendors: McAfee, Symantec, and Trend Micro. To use SCSU wireless network, users of other anti-virus applications must replace the software with applications from the University recognized vendors. You may download a free copy of McAfee anti-virus software at SCSU Share. Follow the quick steps outlined below to get online at SCSU:

  • Make sure your device has a properly installed and configured wireless Ethernet card.
  • Make sure your computer has the lastest anti-virus software installed.
  • Power on your device.
  • Your device should detect SCSU wireless network automatically.
  • Launch Internet Explorer.
  • The SCSU Network Authentication Page should appear.
  • Enter your Windows username and password.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the getting online process.
