Operating System Updates
It is recommended that you frequently check for updates to your operating system to patch any vulnerabilities discovered.
- Windows: Locate the Windows Update option in your Start Menu.
- Apple: Locate Software Update from your Apple menu in the top left corner.
Antivirus Software Installed
The University requires that all Windows-based computers have antivirus software installed on their computer before obtaining access to the wireless network. Currently, antivirus software is optional for Apple computers but is recommended. All other operating systems are exempt from this requirement.
The following are the only antivirus packages the wireless network will recognize:

NOTE: If you fail the Antivirus Software Installed requirement you must uninstall ALL antivirus software packages currently installed on your computer prior to installing a valid product. If you do not wish to purchase your own software, you can elect to install the FREE University licensed copy of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise on your computer.
